Club Brugge midfielder Arnaut Danjuma Groeneveld admits Manchester City wanted to sign him.

Groeneveld, 21, left NEC Nijmegen for Club Brugge this past summer.

"Club really wanted me. I like that attention. When I came here, it was immediately clear to me. Compared to all other clubs that were interested, including Manchester City, I can best develop here," Groeneveld told Voetbal International.

"They (Dutch clubs) reported, but I consciously chose Bruges.

"There was also interest from Germany, England and France. I follow my feelings, always. I cannot explain how that works, but here it was just right."
