Massimo Palanca says Fulham let down Claudio Ranieri after his dismissal yesterday.
Palanca is a close friend and played with Ranieri at Catanzaro.
He told TMW: "The truth is that they always take advantage of respectable people.
"He asked for reinforcements, but they have not arrived and now they blame the errors on the one who does not have it, but unfortunately this is football.
"He had arrived at Fulham with great enthusiasm but when he saw that the team was not up to the task he asked for the players, who were not taken.
"I followed the game they lost 4-1 against Arsenal, they played a good game and 0-0 could've also been the score. But it was a light-hearted team and behind it had several gaps.
"Claudio tried to intervene to shore it up. The situation was not easy and he knew it."
