Manchester City left-back Gael Clichy has heaped praise on manager Pep Guardiola's coaching staff for the work they are doing with the players.

The Citizens have managed eight wins out of eight games in all competitions under Guardiola this season with their impressive start drawing parallels to their beginning last term under Manuel Pellegrini.

However, Clichy insists that City won't burn out after an impressive start, like last season, due to the amazing work being done by the coaches at the club.

He said: "We won't burn out because the training sessions are so well planned. They know what they are doing.

"Just like we always talk more about strikers than defenders, it's the same talking about the manager doing great things. His staff are amazing as well

"Every training session they look after you individually – not just Pep, but the fitness coaches, the assistant coaches, the EDS coach when he sends players to train with the first team squad.

"It's probably the best [coaching] team I have worked with and it doesn't get mentioned a lot. It starts in the office and reaches to the pitch.

"It's important to have a positive atmosphere in the club, and that starts in the office, to talking to the media, to having meetings together, training sessions and of course games.

"People don't see the hard work that goes but we know - and that's why we are so sharp on the pitch."
