James McCarthy has become increasingly unsettled at Everton.

The Mirror says McCarthy is seeking urgent contract talks with Everton following Tom Cleverley's Bosman signing.

McCarthy is unhappy because Cleverley will be paid more than him when he joins on July 1 on a free transfer from Manchester United.

The Republic of Ireland midfielder was already annoyed because Everton have yet to fulfil their promise to offer him new terms.

McCarthy is happy at Everton, but wants his value to the team reflected in his wages.
