Clement Lenglet says he can handle Barcelona seeking a new centre-half signing in January.

Fitness doubts for Samuel Umtiti and Thomas Vermaelen has Barca seeking an experienced, short-term defensive addition for next month.

While it will mean more competition, Lenglet says: "Recruit a central defender? The bosses of Barça have chosen their plan and we respect it.

"We are currently three centrals plus a midfield player. We will see if they recruit during this market."

Barca are eyeing Zenit St Petersburg defender Branislav Ivanovic among several veteran names to fill the breach.
