Clement determined to fight for West Brom spot

Neil Clement is determined to fight for his place at West Brom in next season's Premiership.

"I am sure the chairman and manager will be working hard to bring extra quality here and it's up to the lads that are already here to fight for their shirts," said Clement, who made his 300th appearance for the Baggies in the final game of the season at QPR.

"The manager will probably go out and sign a left-sided centre-half and then it will be up to me to step up to the plate.

"I think I have proved over the years that I can do that.

"The nucleus is there but it's only right that some more good players should come along.

"I think it's exciting and I'm looking forward to it and new players coming through the door only raises everyone else's standards."
