Claudio Gomes admits he was long on the radar of Manchester City.

The French teen left PSG this summer to sign for City at 18 years of age.

However, he revealed to Onze Mundial: "With Manchester City, it has been continuous. The club already wanted me at U12/U13. Until my last year of training, they have always been there and followed me.

"I weighed the pros and cons. Staying at PSG would have been easy because I was next to my house and because I was a child of the club. And on the other side, I wanted to try something else in a big club too, with great players and a great coach.

"I was actually attracted. I do not know how to explain it to you, but I was tempted by this project."
