The father of Riqui Puig is proud of his son after he made his Barcelona debut last night.

The midfielder saw action in the Copa del Rey win over Cultural Leonesa.

Carlos Puig was pleased for Riqui, though also cautioned people against getting carried away.

"We are from Barça and having a child playing here is unthinkable. Ricard deserves it because he has fought hard to get here and still has the most difficult ahead of him," Carlos told Mundo Deportivo.

"He must continue to work just as he did to make this dream come true.

"Now we have to let the 'soufflé' go down and for Ricard to have his feet on the ground. Let him be a humble boy and do not burden him too much. I speak today because we are happy because it is the day of the debut. I would not like to continue talking in the press because parents also spoil things. Let Ricard calm down.

"He will have days that he will not do well, that he will be criticised, we must be prepared for everything."
