Class! Liverpool midfielder Lallana, Newcastle's Ritchie working with Bournemouth academy

Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana has been helping Bournemouth's coaching staff during the coronavirus suspension.

Lallana hails from the south coast, and started his initial pathway to becoming a professional on the books at Bournemouth's centre of excellence.

Lallana has been in regular contact with members of The Cherries' under-18 squad via video conference call, who have used the midfielder as a sounding board throughout the current pandemic.

Newcastle's Matt Ritchie - a former Bournemouth starlet himself - has also been involved in direct video conference calls, in a bid to aid the development of the young players coming through the ranks at the Vitality Stadium.

Cherries under-18 coach Alan Connell told the club's website: "For the Liverpool analysis I contacted Adam Lallana and he was really happy to help out, he spoke really well to our players.

"He's obviously a local boy and it was nice to talk about the Liverpool tactical work to follow up on what we'd been talking about and that linked things really nicely for our players.

"He also gave an interesting insight into his development at a young age and his experiences both domestically and internationally."

On a separate call, Ritchie also gave an insight into how he had overcome setbacks to make it in the Premier League, as well as some of his experiences out on loan.
