City Football Group (CFG) is close to adding second-tier French side AS Nancy to its global portfolio, according to reports in France.

French magazine France Football reported that CFG is in 'advanced discussions' with the Ligue 2 outfit having initiated conversations over a possible takeover last summer.

www.sportspromedia.com/. understands that while CFG is exploring a range of options, nothing has been concluded and no deal is imminent at this stage.

AS Nancy, who are 14th in Ligue 2, are currently presided over by French businessman Jacques Rousselot.

Since the initial reports, Rousselot has confirmed talks with CFG to local newspaper L'Ést Républicain, but emphasised that no deal has yet been agreed.
