Christian Benteke pleased to end Crystal Palace goal drought

Christian Benteke was pleased to score in Crystal Palace's defeat at Everton yesterday.

It was the striker's first goal in the Premier League since April 2019. A total of 17 games and 765 minutes played between his last goal and the goal against Everton.

"It has been the hardest period of my time in England so far. It has not been easy, but every week there is a new chance, and today I seized it," Benteke said after the match.

Though on the defeat Benteke added: "I was happy to score.

"But it was frustrating to lose and the mood is bad in the dressing room."
