Chongqing have confirmed they're in advanced talks with Barcelona captain Andres Iniesta.

The club's president Gong Daxing has announced a deal is now being discussed.

"I'm sure that we will be able to present Andres Iniesta and his arrival will be a great asset for Chongqing and a bonus for our brand," he said.

Iniesta says he will announce his future this week and is expected to end his time at Barcelona for a move to the Far East.

The midfielder is set to leave as a Double winner after winning the Copa del Rey final on Saturday.
