Shao Jiayi says he is waiting for Birmingham City to get in touch after his recent trial. The China international, who is out of contract at German side Energie Cottbus in the summer, scored a superb 30-yarder in a reserve friendly against Cheltenham Town.

He said: "I was happy with my performances. I think I have achieved the goals I set prior to coming.

"Birmingham are to contact me as to whether they want me or not. I am not anxious about the wait. My job was to perform well and now the club's task is to make the transfer decision."
