Chievo Verona have snapped up veteran striker Davide di Michele.
Di Michele, 36, signed a one-year deal with the club following the expiry of his Lecce contract.
"We found ourselves together at the right time and it felt important to be here," reflected Di Michele on the deal.
"Chievo's pursuit lasted a couple of years and I thank [sporting director Giovanni] Sartori and [President Luca] Campedelli who have proven to love me at all costs.
"I'm happy to have made this choice and can now begin. I'm 36 but inside I still have a lot of desire.
"I consider this a fresh start. I could have done nothing, remained quiet, but I sought a solution that would allow me to continue at this level and nowhere else interested me.
"The fans expectations for me to reach double figures are mine also. But be aware, there are a large number of strikers in this squad. I'll try to get involved in the best possible way.
"Chievo was a choice of the heart, for the estimation and its standing. In short, these were the elements that convinced me to become a part of their world."
