Chievo keeper Sorrentino raps Man City boss Guardiola over Hart treatment

Chievo goalkeeper Stefano Sorrentino has slammed Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola for dumping Joe Hart.

Sorrentino says Hart “is worth an extra 10 points" to Torino this season.

“I just say the most important thing for a goalkeeper is to prevent goals," says Sorrentino. “OK, in modern football they also need to know how to use their feet, but it's not as if Hart is terrible in that area. I don't see any particular limitations or weaknesses.

“I am curious to see how Hart will adapt to our football in the long term. I have played abroad in Greece and Spain, so I know the difficulties a goalkeeper can find playing in a different environment.

“Hart's style of goalkeeping shows a different 'school' to the Italian one. For example, he uses the cross technique on a player who is running one-on-one. That means standing in a cross shape, with arms and legs wide, so you narrow the angle as much as possible.

“Someone like him can bring a good 10 points to a team per season. His decisive saves could contribute to four, five or six narrow wins."
