Former Fiorentina striker Enrico Chiesa believes they received the better end of the bargain over Juan Cuadrado's sale to Chelsea.

Mohamed Salah arrived in part exchange on-loan and has made an instant impact.

Chiesa enthused: "He's really a great buy. He showed determination, passion, quality. So he is definitely a player that is right for this team. He surprised everyone, many did not expect to see him explode so soon.

"Surely he is more effective (than Cuadrado). And more a striker than the Colombian, so he'll score even more.

"He has everything to succeed both as a winger in a 4-3-3 and the second striker alongside Mario Gomez or Khouma Babacar."
