Norwich chief executive David McNally is not taking seriously reports that promotion this season to the Premier League would be too soon for the Canaries. McNally told the club's AGM promotion could be worth up to £90 million for the English Championship club and it would be an opportunity too good to miss.
He said: "One year in the Premier League guarantees £90m of additional income without kicking a ball.
City's current debt stands at £20.9m, while £90m amounts to club's annual turnover four times over.
McNally was adamant the club, who currently lie in fourth and five points off the leaders QPR, will do everything in their power to get promoted.
He added: "Is it too soon to be promoted? There are 90 million reasons to make certain we are ready. If the opportunity surfaces you take it."
