Sunday night's Chicago Fire versus New York Red Bulls encounter at Toyota Park was one for the record books.
The match saw five Designated Players on the one pitch for the first time in MLS history and also attracted a record crowd figure at the venue - 21,868.
The contest ended 0-0 but that did not draw away from the fact that Fire's Freddie Ljungberg and Nery Castillo were up against the Red Bull's Thierry Henry, Rafael Marquez and Juan Pablo Angel in a MLS first.
Former Arsenal stars Ljungberg and Henry both commented on the match with Ljungberg admitting the crowd was brilliant whilst Henry was left ruing his sides missed chances.
''We had great support,'' Ljungberg told the Chicago Sun-Times. ''It was electric out there, really good.''
Henry added: ''We should have won. We had the chances, but Chicago and their goalkeeper had a great game."
