Chicago Fire star Mike Magee admits he was somewhat surprised not to be selected for the recent USA squad.
The 29-year old forward was nowhere to be seen in Juergen Klinsmann's 23-man squad for upcoming friendlies with Scotland and Austria which came as a slight shock after running second in the MLS Golden Boot with 21 goals in 2013.
"I was a little surprised not to be called in," he told the Fire's official website.
Magee, who has never represented the US at senior level, missed out to the likes of Clint Dempsey, Eddie Johnson (both Seattle Sounders), San Jose Earthquakes star Chris Wondolowski, Sunderland's Jozy Altidore, Rapid Vienna's Terrence Boyd and AZ Alkmaar young gung Aron Johannsson.
