Chicago Fire midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger admits it was a frustrating time at Manchester United this season.
But he holds no ill will towards the Reds and says he hopes they qualify for next season's Champions League.
Jose Mourinho apologised for his handling of the World Cup winner on his departure from Old Trafford and Schweinsteiger said: “He spoke to me, so it was nothing new for me, but it shows his character.
“Of course it was an unfortunate situation, for both of us, but I hope the best for United.
"I hope they can qualify for Champions League. I'm always watching whenever they play and I hope that they're going to win."
