Patrick Doody has become Chicago Fire's sixth Homegrown Player with the club confirming the deal on Monday.
The Fire Academy product has landed a professional contract after starring for Indiana University overt the past few years, culminating in his 2014 Big Ten All-Tournament team selection.
Fire head coach Frank Yallop was thrilled to wrap up the deal for Illinois native Doody who was a standout for the Hoosiers during his college career.
"Patrick is a talented, young player and another local product who understands what wearing the Fire badge represents," said Yallop in a statement.
"It speaks highly of the work our player development system has been doing to produce another player who can make the transition to the first team."
Doody is Chicago's sixth-ever HP, joining local products Harry Shipp, Chris Ritter and Collin Fernandez on the current Fire roster.
