Chicago Fire have named Logan Pause as the MLS clubs new vice-president.
The 33-year old defensive midfielder retired from professional soccer at the culmination of the 2014 MLS regular season and will now step into a very important off-field role.
Pause, who made over 300 appearances for the Fire, will begin his new job on December 1 says he is ready to make the move from playing to administration after a successful career.
"[Fire owner] Andrew [Hauptman] was the first call I made when I decided to retire," Pause told Chicago-Fire.com.
"He immediately asked how I saw myself fitting in at the Club moving forward and offered his ideas. The Chicago Fire Soccer Club is at my heart and soul and I'm thrilled to be taking on this new challenge in the organization.
"I feel like a rookie again," he added. "It's going to be a little different parking my car and going upstairs to work. I couldn't be happier, though, and am ready to roll up my sleeves."
