Bruno Cheyrou has lifted the lid on the quirky man-management approach his former Olympique Marseille coach Marcelo Bielsa.
The Argentine has been a revelation in the English Championship this season as he has Leeds United on track for promotion.
Cheyrou recalled: "He does not want to address his players.
"Sometimes you crossed him in the hallway, he'd put his head like that so as not to say hello.
"I have an anecdote with Steve Mandanda who was captain of the team. In Marseille, the building (the training center) is on three floors with the meeting room on the ground floor and the dressing room downstairs. One morning, Mandanda enters the elevator, Marcelo Bielsa too. Bielsa does not say hello to him and does not shake his hand while he's his captain.
"As a coach, he challenges. He is special."
