Chester hopes Tottenham star Eriksen misses Wales clash

Wales defender James Chester is happy Denmark star Christian Eriksen could potentially miss their UEFA Nations League clash on Sunday.

Eriksen and a host of national team players are embroiled in a sensational row with the Danish football authorities over a new commercial rights agreement for the squad.

The DBU has threatened not select stars such as Eriksen, Kasper Schmeichel and Andreas Christensen, and instead select players from the lower Danish leagues. Which is something that Chester would be pleased to see unfold.

"It would certainly make it an easier fixture without Eriksen," Chester said.

"He is one of the best players in the Premier League. He showed that at the World Cup.

"All is not well over there at the moment, but it's nothing to do with us.

"We'll be in Denmark on Sunday regardless of what squad they pick, and looking to win the game whoever's playing."
