Chester admits West Brom situation is ‘difficult’

James Chester acknowledges that his move to West Bromwich Albion has not yet gone to plan.

The 26-year-old defender joined the Baggies from Hull City in the summer transfer window but has featured just three times under Tony Pulis.

Chester was impressive for the Tigers at centre-back last season as they suffered relegation from the Premier League but has not been given many opportunities at The Hawthorns thus far as his former club sits aloft the Championship table.

"The disappointing part for me is I played the first game of the season and I think I showed enough. But to only give me one opportunity there I find it quite difficult to understand," he told Wales Online.

"I'm 12 games into a four year contract, but I'm not one who likes to sit and watch. I want to play and I thought I was coming to West Brom to play in the Premier League.

"Hindsight is a wonderful thing and you see how Hull are doing at the start of the season. I had other options which makes the situation a little more difficult."
