Malouda said: "I knew him from Guingamp and he has always been like this.
"He has always been a leader, always speaking in the dressing room and bringing all the team behind him.
Malouda added: "Even though he is at this level, he is working harder and harder every day in training. The fact that he did a good pre-season without any injuries is important. He is really happy and he is enjoying his form. He is training very hard, harder than ever.
"You can see he is fit. He had some rest because of the ban and now he is back in the competition and he is scoring a lot of goals."
