Victory for Chelsea next Sunday at home to Manchester United will see them go nine points clear of the Champions, who will have a game in hand.
Blues midfielder Frank Lampard said: "It would be significant to go nine points ahead of them in the 'us and United race' but that's not the title race.
"Liverpool played very well against Manchester United and you cannot discount them as they're up there with us while Arsenal got a great result and are a very good team.
"Man United are the sort of team that can be points behind but you can never forget about them - they can put a lot of wins together.
"Whatever happens next week it won't have any final bearing, but it'd be nice to put a bit of space between us and them."
