Chelsea winger Willian wants the club's board to have patience with boss Frank Lampard.

Most fans understand that despite Lampard's position as a club legend, his job would be on the line if results do not go their way.

But Willian likes what he is seeing from the first few months of Lampard's tenure and he wants to see it progress.

"Lampard was one of the best players at Chelsea and one of the best players in Europe," the Brazilian said to reporters.

"The fans love him and he knows the club very well. I think now it's time to give more time to him. I've been at Chelsea six years and I've had five different managers already!

"Maybe now it's time to give more time like Man City do, like Liverpool do, three or four years.

"That could be very important."
