Chelsea winger Pulisic ignoring his critics

Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic insists he hasn't been put off by his detractors.

The USA international has had plenty of positive moments during his spell at Stamford Bridge, but injuries have put a dampener on his progress.

However, Pulisic has claimed those down times have not impacted his mentality.

"Everyone was questioning that I'm not playing and this and that, and I was doing fine then and I'm doing fine now," Pulisic said, via Goal.

"That's the beauty of this sport and this profession, and I'm feeling very good and I feel in a good rhythm at the moment. I'm really happy to now be back with the national team to really try to help the team."

Meanwhile, Pulisic believes the United States national team has learnt from their 2018 World Cup qualification failure.

The Chelsea winger was part of the team which failed to qualify for the tournament in Russia.

The Americans will get a chance to qualify for Qatar this week with qualifiers against Mexico and Panama, and Pulisic has reflected on how his team has improved over the past four years.

"I have no regrets," he said. "Obviously, we were in a position to do it last time and we weren't able to reach our goal, but this is a bunch of guys who are really just looking forward and a really hungry team who is going to give absolutely everything to make sure that we have a spot in the World Cup.

"I think it's something we obviously don't want to go through again, but there's really no regrets from that time. I've obviously learned a lot and this team has learned a lot in our careers and I think it's just a mindset now as well, where we are a confident bunch of guys and we can go into any game thinking that we can win."
