Chelsea whiz Gilmour; Liverpool's Jones among nominees for PL2 Player of Year

Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour has made the six-man shortlist for the Premier League 2 Player of the Season award.

Gilmour has been nominated for the accolade following a campaign in which he started 11 of the 17 PL2 games, scoring two goals and assisting four as Andy Myers' team sat at the top of the table before its abandonment in March.

Gilmour had earlier signed a new contract and made his senior debut but his season was cut short earlier this month with a knee injury that required surgery.

The full list of nominees includes Jamal Hector-Ingram (Derby County), Curtis Jones (Liverpool), Liam Cullen (Swansea City), Rayhaan Tulloch (West Brom) and Nathan Holland (West Ham).

The shortlist was selected by a panel of Premier League representatives after PL2 managers had nominated the best individual performance from each of their opponents over the season. The winner will be announced in due course.
