Chelsea are watching Danny Ings' situation at Southampton.
With Chelsea finding it hard to prise Erling Haaland away from Borussia Dortmund, alternatives have been identified to help plug the gap that will be left if Olivier Giroud and Tammy Abraham leave, reports the Mirror.
Southampton star Ings is a potential solution that became much more viable after he turned down a contract from the Saints over a four-year deal.
That would have made him the club's best-ever paid player but he wants to challenge himself at a top team.
Chelsea have been interested in Ings before, as have Tottenham and Manchester City, but the Blues may see the England international as a potential solution to their striker problems.
Southampton may have to sell the 28-year-old as he enters his final year of his contract, meaning he could leave for nothing next summer.
