Former Chelsea captain Dennis Wise has hit out at pundits pushing for manager Maurizio Sarri's sacking.

Wise has accused the likes of Chris Sutton of saying controversial things to stay relevant.

He told The Sun: “Some of them have reasons for saying what they do.

“Chris Sutton came out saying that Chelsea should sack Sarri. But you can go back to Chris' time as a manager at Lincoln where he had 50 games and a 28 per cent win record.

"He knows how difficult it is but he wants to be a pundit so says something controversial. It's not called for."
