Chelsea are ready to meet the buyout clause of Napoli defender Raul Albiol.

The Daily Star says Chelsea are targeting Napoli ace Albiol because the defender has a release clause of just £5.3m.

But the Blues will have to prove a more tempting option than Villarreal.

The La Liga side have the benefit of being from the player's Spanish homeland.

Chelsea can offer Albiol Europa League football but so can Villareal.

New Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti revealed that the former Real Madrid man is not part of his plans.

So the 32-year-old will be allowed to leave Stadio San Paolo for a relatively bargain price.
