Chelsea upset being blocked from competing for Man City target Haaland

Chelsea are upset being blocked from competing for Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland's signing.

The Blues are banned from signing players as part of the special licence which currently grants them permission to play games, after the Russian oligarch was sanctioned due to his ties with president Vladimir Putin, amid the country's ongoing war with Ukraine.

ESPN says the Blues are unhappy that they can't even attempt a move for Haaland as they look to set miss out on one of football's biggest young talents.

Thomas Tuchel's side had identified Haaland as a potential addition to replace Romelu Lukaku who has had a disappointing second spell at Stamford Bridge.

With Chelsea out of the race, it has opened up an easier path for Manchester City to land the £64million striker.
