Chelsea transfers adviser De Visser: Abramovich REJECTED Luiz for nothing

Dutch master scout Piet de Visser has spoken how Chelsea had a clear run at originally signing David Luiz.

De Visser has long been a talent adviser to Blues owner Roman Abramovich.

And he recalled to VBTL: "I scouted him, but nobody wanted him.

“Not PSV, not Chelsea, no-one. He went to Benfica (in 2007). And there he developed."

Abramovich would regularly call De Visser for help and at one point the Dutchman raised the name of David Luiz again.

“Then Abramovich called: 'Piet, we need a centre-back. I said: 'Roman, I told you before, for nothing you could have David Luiz!'

"He took him for a lot of money."
