Chelsea top brass unsure about moving for Derby boss Lampard

Chelsea's top brass are unsure about moving for Derby County manager Frank Lampard.

Lampard is among the favourites to succeed Maurizio Sarri as manager at Chelsea as he prepares to move to Juventus.

However, there is a split inside the club about hiring Lampard.

Journalist Dean Jones says there is a conflict of interests between the coaching and playing staff and the board of directors with regards to who they want as manager next season.

Jones tweeted: "People on the ground at Chelsea's training base are keen for Lampard to become the next manager.

"It's the big bosses in offices that have more concern about it being too risky."

Departing Juve coach Massimiliano Allegri and Ajax boss Erik ten Hag are also under consideration.
