Chelsea are interested in RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano.
Chelsea are preparing to launch a move for Upamecano, reports The Athletic.
Arsenal and Manchester United have been linked with the RB Leipzig man, but now Frank Lampard could be set to steal a march.
Upamecano's contract carries a €60m buyout clause.
Lampard has been busy recruiting nearer the top of the pitch, with Timo Werner (RBL) and Hakim Ziyech (Ajax) through the door.
But Chelsea need central defensive reinforcements and could be set to win the race for Upamecano.
