Chelsea tells Atletico Madrid: Courtois won't be back

Atletico Madrid have been told by Chelsea that Thibaut Courtois will not be returning for a fourth season on-loan next term. Blues boss Jose Mourinho has reiterated that Courtois will have the chance to challenge Petr Cech for a place in the Stamford Bridge starting line up next term.

"I don't think he will be loaned out. We don't struggle to keep him because he has two more years on his contract.

"I don't need to give any assurances to any player.

"A player that has a contract with Chelsea has a contract with Chelsea.

"Chelsea has Petr Cech, Courtois and Schwarzer. We are in a good condition."
