Chelsea target Johnson to stick with Middlesbrough

Adam Johnson is set to stay with Middlesbrough.

The News of the World says Johnson is ready to snub a big-money move to Chelsea or Sunderland after Middlesbrough came up with a new £1.5million-a-year deal.

Johnson, a 22-year-old winger, has been offered a five-year package worth £7.5m to stay at the Riverside Stadium and is on the brink of a dramatic U-turn.

Johnson, who missed his side's game at QPR on Saturday because of a serious family matter, has told Boro that he is ready to commit to the club that he has been with since he was a teenager.
