Chelsea target Adebayor parting ways with Arsenal

Emmanuel Adebayor may have started his last game for Arsenal.

The Mirror says the Togo striker is unlikely to win his place back in the side to face Stoke on Sunday and may not even make the Gunners squad for the final game of the season.

Adebayor is still smarting at being a target for fans angry at the club's underachievement. He was nowhere to be seen at Arsenal's end of season party at London nightclub Sketch on Wednesday evening.

The striker's agent Stephane Courbis insisted last night: "You will have to ask Mr Wenger whether Emmanuel will play on Sunday.

"All I will say is that Emmanuel's work has been good for Arsenal. Is he happy? You will have to ask Mr Wenger. Is he popular? Ask the players and you will see whether he is popular."

If, as expected, Chelsea announce the capture of AC Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti next week then they will be in the hunt as the Italian is a huge admirer of the player.

Inter Milan and AC Milan - who failed in a bid to land the Togolese striker last year - are also in the hunt for his services this summer and are willing to offer around £24million for his services.
