Chelsea are finding it hard to sell Danny Drinkwater because of his exorbitant wages.

Norwich City and Brighton both want to sign the midfielder, who has started just five games for the Blues since joining in 2017.

The London Evening Standard says Drinkwater's £100,000-a-week are proving the major hurdle in his departure from Stamford Bridge.

The West London club might have to consider paying some of Drinkwater's wages to entice Norwich and Brighton to pursue a loan deal.
