Speaking with Kicker, Werner admits snapping his drought in victory over Newcastle United was a relief.
He said, "I just had to let go of all the pressure of having to score goals.
"A clear upturn could be seen in the last few games."
Werner also said: “In England you never have a quiet game. You go to fourth from bottom, you are 0:1 behind after 15 minutes and they park the bus in front of their goal so that you can no longer combine.
"The players are 1.90 metres tall, brutally physical and really fast - even the defenders. It's impressive what's going on in terms of intensity in the Premier League."
