Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has hailed the quality of France teammate Kylian Mbappe ahead of the World Cup final.
With Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo both over 30 unlikely to return to global football's biggest tournament, Giroud believes the stage is set for Mbappe to dominate.
Asked whether he'd played alongside a teenager as good before, the 31-year-old said: “No, no, no!
“In recent football we've never seen that before and he can still improve again and again. He's like a rough diamond and we need to keep polishing it. He's got a big future ahead of him."
On the semifinal win against Belgium, he added: "We really enjoyed the victory with our families that evening but from the next day it was about being focused on Sunday. We've come a long way to get here and we don't want to waste this opportunity now."
