Chelsea have suffered a new injury blow with striker Armando Broja being released from the Albania squad.

Broja will return to Chelsea after he was carried off with an ankle injury while on international duty with Albania.

The 21-year-old took a kick on his left ankle in the 50th minute against Italy.

He was carried off the field and seen icing his ankle shortly after. He watched the rest of the second half from the bench.

There will be further medical checks in the coming days but he is not expected back for Albania's upcoming friendly match against Armenia.

Chelsea are hopeful that the injury isn't serious, with the medical department set to assess any potential damage in the next few days.
