Chelsea striker Batshauyi reluctant to join Aston Villa

Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi is not too keen on joining Aston Villa on loan.

The Villains are on the lookout for a striker after Wesley suffered an injury that may rule him out for the rest of the season.

A loan is most likely in Villa's budget, while Batshuayi has struggled for game time at Chelsea this term.

But The Athletic reports that Batshuayi is not too keen on leaving Chelsea, as going to Villa would mean being involved in a relegation battle.

He may prefer the odd games he gets in the Champions League and Premier League for a top side, rather than grafting every week to survive at Villa.

Batshuayi is currently behind Tammy Abraham in the pecking order at Chelsea, but he is usually picked ahead of veteran Olivier Giroud.

His future may also be dependent on who Chelsea buys in January, as the Daily Express suggests they are after a striker like Timo Werner or Moussa Dembele this month.
