Patrick Bamford has announced he has played his final match for Crystal Palace.
The 22-year-old striker, who joined on a season-long loan from Chelsea in the summer, came off the bench at half-time of Palace's 0-0 draw with Swansea City on Monday night but told reporters immediately after the game that his loan stint with the South London club has now been cut short.
The talented youngster told BBC Sport: "This was my last game for Palace.
"If I were being honest, it has been terrible. No one wants to sit on the bench and not play.
"It was my decision. The coaches have just found out - I have told them I am going.
"The gaffer (Alan Pardew) hasn't actually spoken to me. I will go in and say bye now. But I think it will be fine.
"Shake hands and say it didn't work out. No hard feelings."
Bamford, who was the Championship Player of the Year last season while on loan at Middlesbrough, made just six substitute appearances in the league for a total of nine outings for the Eagles.
