Chelsea forward Patrick Bamford has issued an apology after describing his loan spell at Crystal Palace as "terrible".
The 22 year old revealed he was returning to Stamford Bridge following Palace's 0-0 draw with Swansea on Monday, apparently before he had told Eagles' boss Alan Pardew.
But in a statement on his Twitter page on Wednesday, Bamford wrote: "My comments were taken out of context."
He added: "I want to apologise. I've really enjoyed my time at Palace, the lads were brilliant, the gaffer and training were great.
"I couldn't have been at a nicer club. I'm just disappointed I couldn't do more for the team."
The England Under-21 international made five league appearances as a substitute, with his only two starts for Palace coming in the League Cup.
