Chelsea starlet Gallagher talks with Aston Villa, West Brom after Hodgson picks Batshuayi

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has chosen Michy Batshuayi over Chelsea teammate Conor Gallagher.

Palace have been linked with Blues midfielder Gallagher for weeks now.

But clubs cannot borrow two players from one club at the same time. And the Guardian reports Hodgson would prefer to sign Batshuayi.

The 26-year-old is familiar with Hodgson and the Eagles, having spent the second half of the 2018/19 season at Selhurst Park.

Having seen the Belgian international score seven times in 13 times during that spell, Hodgson has pounced on the opportunity bring him back without a fee.

Gallagher, 20, will still get his move to the Premier League.

He is now in talks with Aston Villa and West Bromwich Albion, while Leeds United and West Ham United are also interested.
