Chelsea star Havertz doesn't want to become reliant on Werner

Chelsea star Kai Havertz believes it is important that both he and Timo Werner continue to develop their careers on their own merits.

While Havretz is happy that he was joined at Chelsea this summer by his countryman, he does not want to become reliant on Werner.

The latter arrived from RB Leipzig, while Havertz was a club record signing from Bayer Leverkusen.

Both have started the season very well, with Chelsea looking like potential title contenders in the Premier League.

"I help Timo with good passes on the pitch and, at the beginning, he helped me out with a lift to the training ground," Havertz told Sport Bild.

"Sure, we do a lot of things together. This helps a lot.

"But we also must go our own ways to fully settle here.

"To me, the move to England is also an important step for my personal development."
