Chelsea have yet to confirm reports that Gonzalo Higuain can be re-signed next season.
As it stands, the Blues will not be able to sign players for two transfer windows after FIFA rejected their latest appeal of the ban, which was handed down by the governing body for breaching rules around signing international minors.
Chelsea have taken their appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
However, word is still to come from Chelsea on whether Higuain's loan deal from Juventus can be extended.
Reports have claimed because Higuain signed on loan in January that an extension of the deal would not constitute signing a new player.
